R3 is an enterprise blockchain software firm working with a broad ecosystem of more than 300 members and partners across multiple industries from both the private and public sectors to develop on Corda, our open-source blockchain platform, and Corda Enterprise, a commercial version for enterprise usage.

Our global team of over 200 professionals in 13 countries is supported by over 2,000 technology, financial, and legal experts drawn from our global member base.

Our Corda platform is already being used in industries from financial services to healthcare, shipping, insurance and more. It records, manages, executes institutions’ financial agreements in perfect synchrony with their peers, creating a world of frictionless commerce.
 
R3 is seeking a new, core member of its Corporate Development group. This nimble team is responsible for R3’s financial and human capital investments in its ecosystem, with a mandate to bring more Corda applications to market as quickly as possible. The new member will report to the Head of Corporate Development and lead cross-functional diligence teams including members of R3’s engineering, finance, regulatory, and legal teams.

Corporate Development also aids in the competitive analysis of the enterprise DLT landscape and Open Source commercial strategy for R3’s senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for all aspects of deal execution including origination, negotiation, documentation, diligence, and integration planning/execution
  • Research nascent commercial opportunities, analyzing established industries for disruption, grasping emerging technology, and applying a multitude of business models
  • The team member will contribute net new research, propose strategy, and brief senior management of R3, including the Executive Committee.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience required in investment banking, corporate development, private equity, venture capital or management consulting, ideally with a focus on technology
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Exceptional analytical and writing skills
  • Excellent financial modeling skills
  • Significant deal due diligence experience and ability to run processes with minimal oversight
  • Relevant enterprise and B2B technology familiarity
  • Ability to lead presentations for senior management
  • Keen focus on details, accuracy, and professionalism
  • Strong understanding of accounting, corporate finance, and enterprise valuation
  • Investment and diligence experience in market transactions is a plus
