We are looking for a well-rounded, qualified CPA or CFA for the role of Finance Business Partner. Based in New York, the position will report to the Group Finance Director but hold commercial relationships with several key senior stakeholders across the business. Working on innovative new product initiatives and revenue forecasting, with a focus on business partnering, strategic decision support and cost rationalization, the position will provide timely analysis and insightful guidance to this high-growth organization. The Finance Business Partner will also own long-term strategic planning, annual planning, variance analysis for monthly/quarterly business reviews, and ad-hoc projects and analysis as needed. With prior experience within a software or fintech environment, you will demonstrate robust analytical skills, alongside excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and will work closely with senior management across the organisation. 


  • Management & Board Reporting
  • Responsibility for the monthly PL position for those divisions within your remit, including oversight for the revenue, operating expense and EBITDA positions as reported to Management and the Board against budget and forecast.
  • Work in conjunction with the Group Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to prepare a quarterly board reporting pack and monthly management executive pack, including commentary on performance and KPIs for senior management review.
  • Perform variance analysis and design and deliver impactful presentations and dashboards of KPIs of key operational areas to divisional leads. 
  • Planning and Forecasting
  • Work closely with your commercial divisional leads, budget holders and the wider Finance team to formulate the annual and 5-year plan for input into the group planning process, including the preparation of divisional level budgets for review by the CFO, CEO and presentation to the Board.
  • Produce the rolling monthly management and quarterly Board forecast for those divisions within your remit, utilizing systemized reporting to produce a revenue, headcount and operating cost forecast, with robust analysis against plan.
  • Work with the Sales Operations and Sales Leadership teams to calculate and produce the rolling monthly sales commitment which underpins the monthly management and quarterly board revenue forecasts.
  • Business Partnering
  • Partner extensively with key internal stakeholders to understand business performance and their impact on financial results.
  • Manage and track recruitment plans and headcount spend for your divisions, demonstrating the ability to guide your divisional leads and flex financial plans to enable business performance.
  • Lead the modelling of new commercial initiatives and product launches, designing and producing business case frameworks which can be utilized to benchmark industry pricing and margin analysis.
  • Build a robust financial challenge and review process for budget holders and divisional leads in order to ensure the highest integrity of financial results and validation of operational decision making.
  • Work with the Group Financial Controller to manage all aspects of ASC 606 as it relates to new sales contracts and commission incentive schemes, ensuring the most advantageous treatment of new contract structures for the Company.
  • Projects
  • Assisting the Group Finance Director and CFO in building or analyzing business cases to support new investments and M&A targets
  • Contribute to process improvements across the Finance team through the use of IT systems.
  • Ad hoc projects and other tasks as advised by the Group Finance Director.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance. CPA/CFA/MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years’ work experience in accounting/finance department of a multi-national software or Fintech company
  • Prior experience supporting a head of sales or CRO and producing complex, multi-year GAAP revenue forecasts.
  • Familiarity with ASC 606 and its application to software products
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to identify a problem and intuitively develop solutions and execute.
  • Proven experience of utilising excel-based system tools to build and coordinate financial models for business forecasting, variance analysis, and problem solving.
  • Working knowledge of planning and forecasting and CRM software (Salesforce) packages
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate across all levels, including the ability to persuade with data.
