We are seeking an experienced, dynamic Head of Product Management to lead the growth of Conclave, R3’s new privacy-preserving platform.  

 R3’s Conclave team is on a mission to build the leading privacy-preserving platform for the development of tamper-proof software. Applications range from aggregating sensitive data to detect sophisticated types of fraud, training AI models with sensitive data sets, or aggregating sensitive transaction data for cross-bank risk reporting across organisations.  

Conclave is a software development kit, evolving to a suite of complementary cloud services, rooted in hardware-based confidential computing techniques, designed to bring privacy-preserving capabilities to developers globally.  

As the Head of Product Management for Conclave, you will be directly responsible for the out of box experience for developers building their applications using Conclave.   

You will engage with customers and partners globally to understand their needs for building and deploying privacy-preserving services with Conclave. You will work closely with the engineering leads and the rest of the leadership team to build an offering that meets those needs, set the product strategy and drive adoption of Conclave. You’re combining strategic thinking with hands-on action and bringing data to the discussion to continuously improve both speed and the quality of our decision making. 

Conclave is an early-stage product with huge potential and lots of honing of product-market fit still to come, so you will need to be someone with the passion to promote Conclave to customers, partners, and developers, and the flexibility and creativity to drive direction changes for the business as you learn more about what customers need and where the revenue opportunities lie. 

It’s also a technical product, aimed at advanced technology teams in our customers. You will therefore need to be someone with a strong computing background. 

This role will also be suitable for Senior Product Managers who are looking to take a step up in their career. 

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience building SaaS products 
  • Obsessed with solving customer problems 
  • 5+ years of industry experience with min of 3+ years’ experience in PM role, and 2 years in a technical role (engineering, consulting, etc) 
  • Experience with startups or small teams launching new products 
  • You’ve spent time as a software engineer, technical product manager, or other role that confers relevant technical expertise 
  • Has an interest in service design methodologies 

Day to Day:

  • Engage with customers to deeply understand their core problems. 
  • Work closely with engineering to define product requirements and deliver the right product capabilities to solve those problems 
  • Act as a subject matter expert on data and privacy engineering to enable go-to-market teams (sales & marketing, customer success, etc.) 
  • Work closely with the devrel, product specialists, and the community 
  • Responsible for creating Product requirements, Product pricing, Project plan, Product and Competitive Positioning 
  • Synthesise insights from user research, customer meetings, usage data, and sales feedback to prioritise improvements and new feature ideas to build a sticky product 
  • Drive product lifecycle – Collaborate with cross-functional teams in your area – in close partnership with UX design, engineering and product marketing to create and ship delightful products. 

Other Skills and Responsibilities:

  • An entrepreneurial mindset. You must be comfortable rolling up your sleeves, thriving in ambiguity, taking ownership and making clear, consistent decisions in the face of complexity and uncertainty to get the work done. 
  • Experience in building enterprise SaaS products and SDKs.  
  • Strong knowledge or interest in Privacy-Enhancing Techniques. 
  • Business-minded and analytical. You deeply understand why your products work for your customers and how to measure long-term impact. 
  • Experience and proven success in delivering software products and services to market in an agile software development environment. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical issues simply and convincingly to a wide range of audiences. 
  • Computing degree and/or software development experience. 
  • 6-10 years of relevant work experience in enterprise or related software. 
  • 3+ years of experience in Product Management or related role. 

Nice To Have:

  • Strong knowledge of data privacy and/or data security products and market 
  • Demonstrable track record in building and deploying enterprise software into enterprise operations/DevOps environments 
  • Ability to think big and small – you should be comfortable defining a completely new experience or optimizing an existing one. 
  • Knowledge of enterprise application development market and products with an appreciation of operational practices, business functionalities and competitive landscape
