The Industry Business Lead is responsible for collaborating with the entire firm on a specific industry, leveraging internal resources and applying it to implement initiatives and/or solutions that deliver strategic objectives. 

R3 is a market leading organization, and our Industry Business Unit (IBU) focuses on helping clients develop solutions that create ROI on an industry basis. In the new and emerging blockchain category there is a need to coordinate many entities toward a common solution. This unique characteristic requires specialized leadership that is able to understand market dynamics and how to create market fit solutions that motivate the ecosystem along with our customers.

The Industry Business Unit is at the intersection of sales, product, marketing, venture development. The IBU Lead owns and is responsible for an industry go-to-market plan, coordinating with multiple parts of the organization to do so.

R3 believes Corda has the potential to revolutionize financial services. You should bring domain expertise  in the Capital Markets space, understanding not only the technology and  the underlying processes but also the ecosystem players and stakeholders. Your understanding of the market will help determine which companies R3 should partner with to drive adoption.

Being results oriented you will shape, measure and improve against the KPIs that will lead to the greatest adoption of our solutions.  You will design experiments and feedback loops for continual improvement.

  • Generating thought leadership, such as white papers and blogs, that demonstrate your industry expertise
  • Attending and participating in industry events to help further the R3 brand in Capital Markets and generate new leads
  • Participating in client meetings and workshops with the Sales team, to help close revenue generating deals
  • Capturing specifications for product requirements and functionality based on industry knowledge and client interactions
  • Creating internal strategy and sales collateral for the internal organization to showcase our efforts in your respective industry
  • Generating ideas and use cases that may exist outside the immediate view of the stakeholders to drive the revolutionary capabilities of DLT
  • Owning GTM and partner relationships that scale Corda adoption 

Other Skills and Responsibilities

  • Stay abreast of industry developments and competitive landscape
  • Collaborate closely with R3 commercial, legal, and services teams for end-to-end client engagement, from initial agreement to CorDapp launch
  • Engage closely with various facets of the team and specifically with technical pre-sales engineers in support of RFPs and projects / pilots
  • Ensure that high standards of customer service are provided and maintained to the highest level possible.

  • Business Competencies: organizational awareness, corda awareness and impact, strong ethics and professionalism 

Education and Experience

  • Post Graduate Degree or MBA is preferred, but not required
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of  experience in either strategy, partnerships or business development


  • 10+ years of Capital Markets experience
  • Strong understanding of blockchain & distributed ledger technology
  • Knowledge of issuance, settlement, asset servicing and safekeeping of new types of digital assets
  • Experience driving complex projects
  • Experience preparing and presenting strategy and planning materials to senior stakeholders
