R3 is looking for a driven Sales Development Representative (SDR) to provide pre-sales support to our Field Sales Organization. The SDR is tasked with identifying and generating sales opportunities through both inbound and outbound activities. 
The SDR will service inbound leads and other inquiries with the goal of engaging and qualifying all prospective customers. Additionally, the SDR will align closely with our Account Executives and Marketing Team to create and execute on outbound lead generation campaigns. This role is focused on conducting account research in target accounts in your territory and performing outreach through email, phone, and social.
The SDR is often the first point of contact for our prospective clients so you must be able to demonstrate high levels of professionalism, probe for business challenges and articulate ways in which R3’s Blockchain/Distributed Ledger Technology can solve their problems.


  • Respond, engage and qualify inbound leads to identify new Corda Enterprise sales opportunities
  • Work closely with your dedicated Account Executives (AE) to build account intelligence, identify key contacts and opportunities through direct account engagement and research
  • Develop and execute a strong prospecting plan of attack through both phone and email campaigns
  • Perform continuous verbal and written outreach via phone, email and social with the goal of gaining interest, setting appointments and sourcing pipeline
  • Interact with prospects via phone and email with a high attention to detail and level of curiosity
  • Act as the subject matter expert on Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology and R3’s product offerings to best educate leads and nurture them until they are ready to talk to an AE
  • Help build awareness and drive attendance to special projects and events
  • Take detailed notes and keep an up to date record of all lead and account information in 
  • Consistently achieve assigned quotas 

Requirements/Desired Skills and Expertise

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years experience in business development, inside sales and/or sales
  • Some closing experience is a strong plus
  • Track record of success in past roles, exceeding assigned quotas
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Excellent writing, listening and speaking abilities
  • Must be able to learn and explain at a high level complex technical concepts, articulating how our software can help solve business challenges
  • Strong understanding of SDR and lead development best practices and processes
  • Experience using, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn and Outreach is strongly desired
  • Experience in the financial technology (fintech) is a strong plus
  • Flexible and open to change, as startup environments evolve rapidly
  • Positive can-do attitude with a strong work ethic.  Highly motivated and self-sufficient.
