R3 is an enterprise blockchain software firm working with a broad ecosystem of more than 350 members and partners across multiple industries from both the private and public sectors to develop on Corda, our open-source blockchain platform, and Corda Enterprise, a commercial version for enterprise usage.

Corda is already being used in industries from financial services to healthcare, shipping, insurance and more. It records, manages, executes institutions’ financial agreements in perfect synchrony with their peers, creating a world of frictionless commerce.
 
This role sit within the Venture Development team, who are responsible for R3’s contacts with early stage companies (Pre-Seed to Series A) and nurtures these companies on their journey to product-market fit to ulitmtely convert them into paying customers on our Enterprise License. The Venture Development team is focused on growing the early-stage startup ecosystem in the enterprise (B2B) blockchain space. Our team is tasked with recruiting net new startups to Corda, developing and managing relationships with Mentors, Angel Investors and VC’s and delivering scalable account management across regional books of business. In addition to sourcing projects and nurturing leads and accounts on Corda, our team also creates and implements programs, partnrships and services to help accelerate time to value for the startups we work with. 

In this role, you represent R3 and the Corda ecosystem towards founders and partners such as incubators, accelerators, investors, trade organizations and governmental organizations focused on startups and innovation. You help develop, test and implement new strategies to grow the Corda ecosystem, convert more companies to our platform and bring more partners to the tables to support the startups in our program. You initiate, organize and run meetups and events at high velocity to recruit startups and build community with our existing companies. You own the relationship with the startup founders and help connect our network of mentors, experts, content and capital providers for the benefit of startups in our program. You attend events, conferences and engage in the innovation and startup ecosystem globally with speaking slots and panel participation.

You are responsible to develop, grow and maintain relationships with experts and capital providers and develop partnerships with incubators and accelerators. Together with others in the team you develop and deliver relevant Venture Development content to startups.

You serve as the main point of contact to founders in the Corda ecosystem and help direct them to both our internal resources at R3 as well as our partners throughout the blockchain ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  •  Develop, grow and maintain the Corda startup community and serve as a representative to the market.
  • Organize and run meet-ups, workshops, office hours and other events
  • Speak at conferences and other thought leadership events globally#Develop and maintain relationships with incubators and accelatarors
  • Develop and nurture relationships with regional startup accounts and direct to relevant resources internally and externally as needed
  • Recruit mentors, subject matter and technical experts, investors, and service provider partners to work with program startups
  • Test and implement new initiatives to grow footprint and brand equity
  • Develop strong relationships in the startup ecosystem with founders, corporate venture arms and startup programs, mentors, angels, VCs and advisors and implement strategies to deepen engagement with our community.
  • Scout high quality startups and recruit net new startups to build on the Corda platform (finding startups with a strong blockchain use case and converting startups from other platforms)
  • Devise startup strategy to recruit and support startups using Conclave, our new confidential computing platform, to support the new product launch
  • Serve as an advisor to founding teams on everything from product development to go to market strategy and recruitment
  • Help develop content and resources on Corda, Concalve and startup fundamentals to support startups active in our ecosystem
  • Collaborate internally across Sales, Engineering, Product, Developer Relations and Solutions to support account teams and inform future roadmap for R3

Education and Experience

  • Experience in creating content for innovation programs, workshops and training
  • Self-starter with entrepreneurial vision, critical thinking
  • Innovative and creative mindset, very organized, good presentation skills
  • Experience working in entrepreneurial environments such as incubators and accelerators is a must
