R3 is seeking an experienced full-stack WordPress guru to join our marketing team to manage daily updates and enhance several of our company websites, as well as future web properties. Three sites (r3.com, corda.net and conclave.net) are built on WordPress CMS. As a webmaster on the R3 marketing team, you will be responsible for maintaining a full pipeline of projects related to creating microsites, landing pages, updating content on a daily basis via the CMS, including homepage carousels, adding events, webinars, gated reports and webinar recordings, text and imagery, managing all site integrations, posting podcasts, videos, etc. You also will be asked to create and delete new panels on pages, clone pages, add and update plug-ins and more. All marketing initiatives lead from and to the website and this is a critical role on the team and requires someone who can work at a very fast pace.

You will be responsible for both back-end and front-end website development, such as creating WordPress themes, providing more ‘plug and play’ functionality for the sites using advanced custom fields, adding dynamic and interactive content sections, optimizing sites for SEO, and managing all plugins and custom integrations.  You must have a strong knowledge of the latest industry trends, features and capabilities of a WordPress content management system, as well as SEO (metatag, title tag, sharing on social). Yoast experience, adding and modifying persistent navigation, redirects, and relative links is a must. Candidate must also have a strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards, and may be tapped to develop other web properties or capabilities from the ground up.  This job requires someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and can keep pace with a variety of website requests (a pipeline can have 20 urgent projects at one time) with quick turn-around times.  Finally, we have an external web development firm to enable us to scale and this role will manage those projects with them as well. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the r3.com, conclave.net and corda.net CMS (i.e. non full-stack requests) pipeline. This includes updating content on three sites; i.e. blogs, webinars, event posts, imagery, hero graphics, podcasts, research, events, videos, landing pages with forms, and more
  • Determine ideal pipeline management system for projects
  • Ensure all title tags, metatag descriptions are optimized for SEO
  • Manage external web development firm (pipeline is in Trello) and all special projects
  • Design, code, test, debug, and implement new features and functionality for all web properties
  • Create and manage form handlers across the sites, ensuring proper data transfer into CRM and lead syncing process
  • Ensure high-performance and availability, and manage all technical aspects of the CMS
  • Manage and review each API integration and account service on an ongoing basis; keep abreast of all update notifications and latest versions of web plugins
  • Explore new plugins and integrate them following best practice
  • Support the marketing team with third party sites such as CVENT and Bizbo
  • Work closely with external web development firm to oversee management of SSL certificates, Pantheon servers, DNS records, plug-ins, latest security updates and more
  • Document website strategy, policies and processes and communicate with relevant stakeholders within the organization
  • Manage UTM and trackable links for campaigns
  • Explore dynamic content for future

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Experienced WordPress developer (familiarity with Advanced Custom Fields and the ability to build, enhance and use plug and play/modular functionality)
  • Expert understanding of Web 2.0 techniques and front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap
  • Marketing Automation Tools (Pardot preferred), Salesforce, Gravity form, Google analytics, Google Tag Manager, Vimeo experience preferred
  • Experience building user interfaces for websites, web applications and mobile devices
  • Experience designing and developing responsive design websites for desktop and mobile
  • Experience supporting web and digital marketing initiatives, including experience with large scale global websites
  • Pantheon knowledge is a big plus (if you have never used, you will be required to spend time in docs site learning)
  • Trello or similar pipeline management tool experience
  • Strong communication, ability to update team on progress of trello cards/projects and translate ‘dev speak’ into ‘business decision-maker’ language.
  • Must understand the way leads transfer into the marketing funnel and the impact digital channels carries
  • Experience developing site architectures
  • Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
  • Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
  • Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
  • Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools {{such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial}}
  • Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
  • Strong grasp of security principles. Object-oriented design, multimedia content development
  • SEO implementation experience and understanding of redirects, Yoast and optimization
  • Knowledge of design programs for resizing imagery a plus

What are we looking for in a candidate:

  • 8+ years of experience with WordPress CMS and web development and coding
  • Sample projects you can share
  • Technically savvy and someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and under deadline
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work hard and meet aggressive deadlines—yet also push back on last minute requests that would bump other projects in pipeline
  • Ability to work both independently, and as part of a team, and across teams
  • Strong communication, project, and stakeholder management skills a must
  • Ability to manage external vendors
  • Process-oriented and grasp importance of documentation
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, global, software company a big plus
  • Comfortable building operational processes to streamline role and enable team to scale
  • Performance and results-oriented, as well as operationally focused
